Fractional skin resurfacing technology with the Palomar Lux1540 is a perfect choice of a non-ablative procedure for the treatment of wrinkles, acne, melasma, unwanted textural irregularities, crow’s feet, blotchy skin and more, on virtually any trouble spot on the body – face, neck, chest, arms and legs.
Fractional skin resurfacing with Palomar maximizes client aesthetic outcomes while minimizing procedure risk and reducing downtime. The Fractional laser is divided into thousands of micro beams. These micro beams form narrow and deep columns of energy for absorption into the epidermis and dermis layers of the skin. Each micro beam targets and coagulate a fraction of the skin at a time, while leaving the surrounding tissue unharmed. It is only the coagulated skin that begins to form new collagen and healthy tissue. It delivers excellent aesthetic results with minimal redness or swelling
A series of treatments at 1-4 week intervals may be required to achieve the desired results. Typically one treatment session can last 30-60 minutes, yet all times are subject to variation given the areas being treated.
You may experience redness, warmth, swelling or tightness in the treated area, which typically fades within a few hours of treatment. The skin may often have a pinkish tone for 5-7 days. Generally you can receive a treatment and go back to work or to other activities without any recovery time.
Fractional Laser Treatments were FDA approved for soft tissue coagulation in 2003. In 2004, the treatment was also FDA approved for skin resurfacing, and the correction of winkles, pigmented lesions, age spots, sun spots and skin discoloration.
